Chancellor Park Primary School’s Sports Funding 2017/18
Chancellor Park Primary School’s Sports Funding 2017-2018
The government is providing additional funding of £150 million per year to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding – provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – is allocated to primary schools up to 2020.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.
Chancellor Park Primary School has bought into the Chelmsford Schools Sports’ Partnership (CSSP) which provides competitions in a variety of sports and also training to support teaching staff.
We have put in place an action plan to ensure this funding will improve our PE provision across the school. We plan to use this funding as stated below;
Approximate funding school will receive is £9100
|Hire specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work with teachers and children during PE sessions.
||£6,500£165 per day to work alongside teachers developing teaching and learning.
|Provide a broad range of sports clubs, allowing all children to take part in competition.
|Attending more sporting competitions, or increasing pupils’ participation in the School Games.
||Transport £500,Kit £60
|Helping children to be active and make healthier life choices
||Body care £300
|Ensuring the school has the correct sports equipment to teach a broad and varied curriculum.
|To renew our subscription with Chelmsford Sport Partnership, which offers CPD for teachers and other members of staff and also runs a broad range of competitions for our children to attend.
From September 2013, we will be held to account over how we spend our additional, ring-fenced funding.
(Includes increased numbers of pupils participating in an increased range of competitive opportunities as well as success in competitions)
Ofsted will strengthen the coverage of PE and sport so that both schools and inspectors know how sport and PE is assessed in future as part of the school’s overall provision.
If you have any questions or queries regarding our PE provision please do not hesitate to come and ask me.
